Places to Visit - Palau Sator

Out in the nearby Catalan countryside there are some beautiful medieval villages that we like to set out to visit and one such place we came across yesterday is one of the best! With a population of only about 300 at the little village of Palau - Sator there is so much to see, for example there are several top class restaurants, museums, beautiful buildings and streets all of which are immaculately kept!

We took more than 100 photos around the village...far too many to post on here but you can see my pick of the best on the Facebook link to the right on this page Further down this page are photos from the restaurant and museum we also visited in the village.

To find this village on Google maps just click here >> Palau - Sator

Palau - Sator Museum

For such a small village Palau - Sator has so much to see ! For example this museum shows just how people lived and worked in years gone by from farming, blacksmiths, shoe makers, to wine making and olive oil production. You can see original carts, the tools they used and rooms set out to show what their homes could have looked like..but I suspect that these photos show furnishings from what would have been relatively quite well off hard working families.

Restaurant Mas Pou at Palau - Sator

This restaurant we came across at Palau Sator is the ideal place for special family events or even a 'menu del dia' as we did yesterday! The restaurant is set in landscaped gardens and has several individual rooms which can be hired for your family celebrations. As we entered we were given a full tour of this special place by the owner who you can tell is very proud of his family run business. His family also make their own wine, olive oil & marmalade all of which are on sale to visitors and they also sell to other businesses in the region.
